"Kickin' It" (Single)
It's been a while since we've heard from Jazz Saxophonist J Staton, and with the release of "Kickin' It" it was well worth the wait.
First things first: "Kickin' It" is cookin' with a joyous, upbeat vibe featuring the skilled piano work of guest star Jeff Lorber.
Staton's sax takes the melodiclead on the instrumental. A bottom-heavy bass and drum beat maintain the punchy groove.
Smooth jazz lovers take note'cause because J Staton's kickin' it like its 1993 all over again. Sure hope this gets the radio play it deserves. ---- Jeff Maisey
